Volume II · new album in 2027
Botánica del Viento, vol. II is a new song cycle for voice and wind quintet, written for Ensamble Danaus. Like the first volume, it brings together chamber music, improvisation and Mexican popular song in the form of the décima, with special attention to lyricism and classical counterpoint.
The first Botánica del Viento was born ten years ago as a reflection on grief and loss. The new songs turn toward blossoming: hope and renewal. The cycle is part of the work Nur Slim is developing as a member of Mexico’s National System of Art Creators (SNCA). It is currently on tour in Mexico, and the album will be recorded and released in 2027.

The project has been presented at the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris (with Los Saviñón and Edel Juárez), the Instituto de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca (IAGO), the Teatro Juárez in Oaxaca with Roger Bobo’s Brass Ensemble, the Teatro de la Ciudad de Puebla, the UNAM Faculty of Music (IV University Oboe Festival), the Sala Hermilo Novelo of the Centro Cultural Ollin Yoliztli with chamber orchestra and children’s choir, the International Children’s and Youth Book Fair (FILIJ), the Jazz series at the Museo Tamayo and the Vanguardias de la Música del Siglo XXI series at Casa Lamm, among others.
